Wlandscape is a software-tool to collect and visualize informations of wireless networks. It allows to display several data, such as their expansion, signal-strength and status. The single wireless networks are displayed on a topographical map.
At first the development was motivated by a study project at the University Of Applied Sciences in Kaiserslautern, Germany – location Zweibrücken. The rapidly raising occurrence of wireless networks all over the world positively shouted for a software product combining informations about wireless networks and their topographical visualization. Although there are already tools able to show wireless networks they only display informations about them in a list without the ability to use maps. For this task another software had to be used parallel so far.
The software's functionality varies depending on the operation-system used.
If the software runs on Linux distributions it will primary allow to collect wireless network informations. When running on Microsoft® Windows® systems it just serves for visualization of already detected wireless networks. This manual is intended to guide through the Microsoft® Windows® installation and its use. Please refer to the corresponding Linux manual in order to receive informations about this installation and usage.
Wlandscape was published under the GNU-license as described in the appendix.
